'Yves Contemporary Laurent' Add banned For With Unhealthy Looking ModelAn ad over the fashion company Yves Saint Laurent has been restricted by the UK's advertising watchdog to receive using a model who appeared to be unhealthily underweight, reports the Guardian.
Preceding complaints that the model looked thinner, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) censured the advert, which got shown up in Elle magazine, as irresponsible.
The model's pose and the type of lighting effect in the ad came particular focus to the model's bust, where her rib cage appeared to be to visible and appeared prominent, also her legs, where her hip and legs and knees appeared a similar thickness, and which looked very very thin, particularly in light of her ranking and the contrast between the narrowness akin to her legs and her hardware shoes.
We therefore considered your model appeared unhealthily underweight within your image and concluded that the om was irresponsible. "

A case started by an LA-based article author urging ysl iPhone 5 to stop using "painfully thin models" in its advertisements accumulated just under 50, 000 signatures a year ago. Despite the spotlight on the fashion scene, the YSL advert is one akin to only a handful that have been banned over the ASA for featuring models exactly who look too thin.
I mean, no wonder of the #ysl iPhone case model is sprawled on the floor. She probably passed an appropriate malnourishment. pic. twitter. com/AQwFgV95uC

The YSL advert are banned bc the model is almost certainly underweight yet a plus size 23 model is glorified for being plump? #doublestandards
YSL have a responsibility drinking water won't care about another ad prohibition, look what happened to the Opium om ban…it sold out everywhere #greed
Currently the ASA recently banned another om from Urban Outfitters for explaining to a model with an "irresponsible" thigh space.
